Dear Basketball
From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one. From the moment I picked up your orange spherical shape, black lines all over, I knew you were the one. From the moment I rolled up my dad's black, Nike ankle socks and put on his #34 Paul Pierce Celtics jersey, I knew you were the one. I fell in love with you. I sacrificed every bone in my small 4 year old body for you. You gave a young kid a dream to be GREAT like Michael Jordan. You made me feel alive. You were my escape. You calmed me, but brought me anger. But through it all, I've never loved anything as much as you, except my mother of course. You gave me my traits, my strong-will and single-handed drive to be great. And I cannot thank you enough for giving me these opportunities.
