A burning desire

Never hearing you tell
'It's you I prefer.'

It's an unwanted rage

I've lied to you countless times
About who I like
When you ask this question
It's a never ending hike

Think through what I have said
During the times we've spoke
I've dropped hints here and there
But they don't break through smoke.

I've disguised my true feelings
As just that of a friend
The truth is I like YOU
