It Started with a Party
She walked by him with a smile, but he ignored.
He was only talking to his friends when he should’ve been talking to her.
Doing her own thing and meeting new people,
She was slipping out of his reach until he had a little too much to drink.
Minding her own business, he smoothly interrupted.
Engaging in a conversation was what he wanted.
They had some laughs and a good time,
But he wanted more than that. It was shown through his eyes.
Every time he gazed at her, he was infatuated more and more.
He didn’t realize how much he liked her,
But when he was with her, he never seemed to be bored.
She always told him the truth, however, he only gave back lies.
He never fully trusted her, although he tried.
It was better for her to ignore her feelings and move on.
When she finally accepted that she liked him, he was already gone.
Now she can’t stop thinking about him as if he’s become a curse.
She knew he was bad for her which only makes it worse.
He leaves subtle hints that he misses when they were a thing.
Even though they never dated, they had a sort of good fling.
They still like each other even though they are apart.
The whole time they were just playing games with each other’s hearts.
