Unconditional Love
I sit here watching the children
Who pass by without a glance
They say that I am far too small
And will not grow up to be much
I have been at the shelter for a long time now
Three years to be exact and they're ready
Getting ready to finally put me to sleep
I was given four more days
To see if anyone would want me
If only I knew what was happening
Maybe I am a bad dog because I am unwanted
Or maybe it is because I am a small breed
A tired woman has come in looking for a dog for her boy
Small man is three years old, she finds no dog small enough
After looking in all cages, they bring me before her shaking
She says I am perfect and they will take me now, AS IS
Not being chosen at first, it has made me appreciate love
Unconditional love that I now feel for my new friend
