January 20, 2009
It was the morning of January 20, 2009,
In the back of my mind I knew you weren't fine.
Daddy came in and told me you had gone,
Hearing those words sounded so wrong.
All the times we had together flashed before my eyes,
I was so shocked I couldn't even cry.
Why did God have to take you away?
Oh how I wanted you to stay.
I prayed every night,
Prayed that He would help you win this fight.
But I guess God has a better plan for you,
Even though I don't like to think it's true.
I wanted to tell you good-bye,
But I was too late, it was your time to fly.
You are my hero Uncle Les,
You always have been and I know you always will.
I love you Uncle Les,
I always have and I know I always will.
I'll see you again someday,
Rest in peace!
