Rewind the Tape
Rewind-
Turn it back to the day I stopped believing
Turn it back to the day I gave in.
Turn it back . . . to the one who loves me.
STOP!!!!
Fast forward now;
So I can see what a blind fool I am
to not have you-right here-right now-beside me.
The dark glasses I could not be without-are gone.
At times, the old me comes in and out, in and out of me-
like a plunge, plunging its way through to the end
of the world.
But I can do away with the old her and give you
the new me.
STOP!!!
Rewind-
To the day we first met
You saw me looking in through the window,
And I saw you looking out at me.
Our reflections staring back at us,
like a ghost-appearing in the mirror.
Except yours was stronger and mines was brittle.
You believed in our reflections,
But I dared to disagree.
And now, the new me is coming and the old me is going.
I believe in my reflection now.
STOP!!!
Fast forward now
Turn it back to the day I gave in.
Turn it back to the one who loves me.
Turn it back to the day . . . that I started to believe in us.
