Freedom: The Ingenious Truth
A little girl cries, and does not understand,
Why, from school, was she banned?
Her father sits at the table, his heart filled with dread.
If she did go, he thought, she's be dead.
A little boy asks his mother one day,
"Mommy, why can't I go out to play?"
She cannot answer, with tears in her eyes.
His religion is the reason, though he doesn't realize.
A mother watches her newborn be taken away
"One child is enough" the people say.
Her daughter is at home waiting for her brother
The father will have to tell the news, not the heart-broken mother.
But here in the U.S, for granted we take everything,
From school, to religion, to the children we bring.
We forget how grateful we should be,
In American, Land and Home of the Free.
