The day starts; summer's sunrise comes to view.
This day is special from the view to smell,
Seats the lines, the freshly cut grass review.
The day for the boys of summer, oh swell;
Hot days, popcorn, peanuts are on the scene.
Hope is king on this day of days for fans,
The first ball fly's by near the home plate screen.
The sound of running, hitting, and bands,
Bring in my heroes from the great east shores.
They come in pinstripes to fight the Giants;
They come with their mighty bats, and fans roar,
Father, mother, kids, cousins, and some aunts.
So I love to see the greatest team play,
The New York Yankees are playing
