Couples walking hand in hand
Their feet sinking in the light brown sand.
Waves punching the shore washing the prints away
I look at the people passing day by day.
The sun looks out on the people like a protective mom
The mid-day waves making everyone calm.
The sun partially peaking over the horizon
Like a child's head peaking from the bed he lies in.
The clouds are slowly fading away
Like a puffy afro coming to the end of its days.
The sun slowly disappears
Like pieces of your memory after many years.

What inspried me to write this poem was my favorite place. My teacher, Mr.Conway, persuaded me to try and get it published. Hope you like it. ♥♥

It's been at least 5 years since YeVale wrote this poem in my class, and I still use it to teach similes and personification. I love to see that it's been published.   Mr. Conway
