Fly Away Childhood
We were two kids laden with dreams
 Hand-holding, law-abiding, wannabe rebels
Sitting on your front porch swing
Talking about our plans, talking about whatever
Lazy summer kisses in the warm grass
Strolling down the street bumping hips
 Laughing
Thumbs out, trying to hitch a ride
Down the rainbow, or maybe to Santa Fe
 What became of our dreams?
 Where are they now?
 How did we get here?
