My father’s eyes smile as we walk.
In warm goodbyes, his arms wrap tight.
“I’ll be home in a week. I love you.”
Sun rises. Mom calls.
“Midnight accident. One casualty.”
My father walks with God now.

This is written in a Korean sijo format, with up to 9 syllables per line and 44-46 syllables in total. In the third and fourth line, a "twist" is incorporated, signaling a sharp change in the story or formatting.
