The subtle jingle of bells
As welcomes are said
A draft of the peppermint breeze
Sweeps through the room
Mingling with coffee steam
The sweet smell
Of pumpkin spice
Lingers in the air

I’ve always loved
Watching you work
Your magical touch
Making the coffee
You’ve always loved
Yet you laughed
When I drank that bitter coffee

All your hard work and talent
Was accepted by that school
Your jubilant smile
My hidden tears

I’m sorry
For the pain and sorrow
But please let me borrow
More of your time
Before it’s too late

The day you left
It broke my heart
I choked on tears
Unable to say
Farewell
But I’m glad
You’ve went to a better place

Drinking the coffee
You’ve always loved
Has it always been
So bittersweet
