When J.A.W. was born
He was going to continue on the name
the name that his Great Grandpa had,
his Grandpa,
and his Dad has.

J.A.W.

PICKLES
Salty.
Spicy.
Sour.
Who knows why we love the things we do
every Christmas, a huge jar wrapped with a bow.
Just for him.

It was his tradition.

MUSIC
Shouts of the music.
Drums.
Clank.
Rumble.
Bang.

He loved it all.

DECISIONS
There are two kinds of decisions.
right
and wrong.
He made some of the wrong ones.

FRIENDS
There are two kinds of friends-
ones who help you
and the ones that hurt you.
On the night of his death
He hung out with the wrong ones.
He should have chose the ones-
who loved him,
who spoke at his funeral,
who would have stood up for him.

GONE
The bang of of realization.
Unbearable.
Horrible.
A sour death.
All because of bad decisions.
The tradition of J.A.W. was gone.
Jake Austin Ward was gone.
My cousin was gone.
The bang of realization.

This was a moment, a moment of pain. That I will remember for the rest of my life.
