Decisions of Doors

I stand here staring at this door
Waiting for something more
And while looking at this gate
Of which I exponentially hate
There comes a revelation
A long awaited explanation

On this side of the door
I am a bore
And nothing more
A sordid thought
But one that is true is greater than one that is not

If I were to step through this door with an open mind
Leaving all that I am behind
I know that I should be wearing a smile
But this whole concept seems so vile

Because of this I don't take the plunge
I don't lunge
For the door handle
Instead a candle
To guide me in my waiting
My baiting for something more
Than this hopeless door
