Is beauty inside or out
What is beauty really about
Is it the way we see ourselves
Or the way you appear to others
Is beauty being pretty
Is beauty being tan
Or just not pale
Is beauty about never having a zit on your face
If that's what it is then who has true beauty?
no one.....
I believe beauty is accepting yourself for who you are
being proud of wearing a scar
I believe beauty is how you see others
It has to be more than fake tans and makeup
So why do people try to bring me down
Maybe they think I'm beautiful when I wear a frown!
Maybe they just don't realize
The way they make me see myself with my eyes
That zit on my chin yah it grew a bit
and my paleness turned grey
My hair got curlier and curlier
until - in my mind - I turned into a monster
then what?
Then I turn to makeup and fake tans
But why should I have to hide
Is that what beauty is about
Hiding your true self behind a layer of makeup
If that's what it is I don't want to be beautiful....
