My first performance
In front of a large crowd
  On my twelfth birthday
Finally my family was proud

Trying out for this talent show
   Anxiety filled my mind
Always kept my talent a secret
   But now was my time to shine

It was almost my turn
  Getting close to the stage
At this point I know
  It’s time to turn the page

Beginning a new chapter
  Forgetting my fright
   Standing in the center
This is my spotlight

Don’t be scared to stand out
        This new lesson I had learned
  In this new book of memories
I have now earned.
