Forever
I hear the word forever
I wonder if it's true
I to have used that word
Especially when I speak of you
But yet I look around
All I seem to see
Are people who used forever
But for them forever never came to be
I've heard, "I'll love you forever"
As newlyweds took their vows
But in a few years down the road
Each other they no longer arouse
So their forever never came to be
Though both thought it was here
Now they know that forever
Is just something that you hear
So that's why I wonder
If forever does exist
That's why when it comes to that word
It's use, I try to resist
For as long as I've been alive
I've seen nothing last forever
But I hope if you have a forever
That for you it always gets better
