Princess

Once upon a time there was a princess,
Due to marry her prince
Wedding night, she found him with the empress
She hasn't felt the same way since.

She looks to her magic mirror
It says what it's always said...
But if she's so damn fair,
Why does she feel so damn dead?

Finding that the dragon
Was really her own fear
She set her mind on a quest,
And didn't shed a single tear.

So she saddles her stallion
And away she rides.
To defeat her own beast,
Since her prince just hides.

I wish I could be more like her,
And defeat what lies within.
But looking at how things go down,
I haven't got much chance to win.

Once upon a time, there was a princess.
I wish she was me...
I hope I can fill her shoes,
And live out the prophecy.

This poem was inspired (of course) by a boy. Need I say more? It is actually a song, accompanied by piano. Thanks to my epic piano teacher for the help!
