Hope was yesterday,
Life is today,
Death will be tomorrow.
Dry tears fall,
Dead animals crawl.
Friends and laughter,
Sadness and disaster.
Marriage happens,
Life crappens.
Children crawl,
You soon fall.
Now they're calling,
Ashes are falling.
Lonely and scared,
Barely even there.
A touch of silence,
A pear of ripeness,
A tall tree stands.
Closer,
Not far now,
Life comes right out.
You stop a moment.
You hear only silence,
In the dark shadows,
You stand alone.
