Rays of magniloquent sunlight
glossed the field
Dandelions swayed in rhythm
to the tender breeze

White puffs etched the
immeasurable blue above
Vines were crocheted mercifully
around an evergreen

Birds sang in harmony with
each other to a blissful beat
The soft cooing of rippling water
echoed mirthfully

Leaves fell from the
rancorous branches of tall oaks
A family of mushrooms lie
obliquely and tantalizing

Severed petals babbled
precariously down a creek
Dark molds flecked the rocks
on the flaccid shores

Insects of cosmic color
sauntered through the grass
Delicate tendrils curled steadily
within a vegetable patch

Apples and pears shed sugary juices,
ripe off the branch
Creatures of different loins
mingled melodiously

Peace halted abruptly
as an abstract ideal sought for
Perfection rang
like the serene voice of an angel

And a boy cried alone,
the lids of his eyes now ajar

The author's comments:
A boy is dreaming of a place so peaceful and serene, when he wakes up in the middle of the night, he cries.
