It's an on going game of hide and seek.
Only I think that I am the only one
Who is seeking and what I am seeking for
Is to know all about you
And where I came from.
I search and search but get nowhere,
Just back to where I started from.
I want to know that you both are out there,
That you are real and exist.
I don't want to feel like the man who brought the knife to the gunfight.
I want to know what it is going on in your life
And I want you to know what is going on in mine.
I want to see your face and your eyes,
To take it all in to be able to see,
See if I have your eyes or maybe your smile.
So maybe one day this game will cease,
And I will finally succeed in finding what I have been looking for
And I will win this long, emotional game of
Hide and seek.
