The moon sails by overhead,
Floating on a current of stars.
My heavy soul is made of lead.
I don't remember who we are.
Exhausted from a long day,
I lie in bed awake.
Thinks did not go my way;
Of this, I know not what to make.
Waiting for sleep to take me,
My mind drifts to him.
If only I could see
Myself through all the dim.
In my quest for him to find,
I think I left myself behind.

"Some things will never change"---Tupac

This is very beautiful.

Nicely written, great emotions.

Keep writing.

This poem takes me back to my sixteen-year marriage that all but consumed me. I can relate to "In my quest for him to find, I think I left myself behind." After the divorce it took me quite some time to find out who I was, and once I did I realized he was never worthy of me in the first place. I love me!!

Very nicely penned!
