Death is a natural part of life
The end of a long hard journey
The pale light at the end
Of a dark depressing tunnel
The final healing release after
the minds cruel imprisonment

Death unwinds the relentless
Overbearing spring of life
Living in a life of death
Falling in the death of life
The reward for work,
Time, not of your choice

The final happiness, lack of sorrow
Fire slowly burning out of your veins
Ice quickly enveloping your heart
Voices, the last thing you hear
Wings, the first thing you see

Trumpets, blowing in your ears
Wind, cutting through your hair

Close your eyes now
Let go and fall.....

Take in the beauty

Wow! Great poem. There is a great balance in it, of light and dark and of your use of poetic language. I really like how you painted death, it makes me think.
