My Friend Sam
My friend Sam
sits next to me in class
He is funny and goofy
and always makes me laugh
We have a good time
and I'm glad Sam's my friend
How was I to know
that was coming to an end?
My friend Sam
is quite a guy
He has lots of friends
and no one would question 'why'
Sam is nice and caring'
always willing to lend a hand
Why God chose Sam,
I can now truly understand
My friend Sam
said to me after class today
'I'll see you later' He touched my arm and we walked the other way
If only I'd known those were his last words
I would ever hear
The last time I would see him'
I'd have held him so dear
My friend Sam
didn't show up for school today
At one o'clock the teachers gathered
They had something to say
They read us a letter
the news was bad ' my teacher cried
There had been an accident
My friend Sam'did not survive
My friend Sam was only twelve years old
when he was laid to rest
My heart was sad for such a long time,
but now I know I'm blessed
Knowing Sam was a true gift
sometimes painful to comprehend
God touches our lives through angels
Sam'my angel'my friend.

Love you,
Dad
friend Sam. I hope you continue to write. Let's hope that this poem will be published.
You wrote a wonderful tribute to your friend Sam. I did not know him but your descriptions let me see what he was like!
Best of luck on getting it published!

My friend Sam was a wonderful friend and I hope his memory lives on through my poem.
Prayers for the Brandon family are always needed and welcomed because I am sure their pain from the loss of Sam far exceeds mine.
If you take anything away from my poem, I hope that its that you will always wear your seatbelts and always appreciate your friends because you never know when its all going to come to an end.
Sam always appreciated his friends and I know he is smiling down on us even today.
