Slumber

Oh how that song sings to me, such a sweet blood filled melody.
The crying of the lost and hopeless inside these walls and these souls' tormented faces of anguish and pain pierce my mind.
Yet, in a ridged and tense embrace the song eases me into a dull, cold, and peaceful slumber.
I wish not to be awoken, but alas I have been once again thrown from my rest back into the putrid stench of these hollow caves filled with wailing.
When shall my own torment end?
Perhaps if I call to the shadow outside of my cage may he answer, may he answer with that friend of his that he keeps so close.
I see the shadow lift his friend and aim it, then which a bang I hardly have time to hear I fall into an eternal slumber.
Dreams of family and dreams of love seem so strange to me now, they are so warm even though I feel so cold.
Soon I know I will adjust to this as I have adjusted to living as I did before.
I have the rest of this world's eternity to help my numb and forget that place I was last.
I now slumber, for the rest of this forever.
