That Night
The pale yellow sunset beautifully placed
Glistening off the sapphire waves
Sparkling into the moist sand
Walking barefoot hand in hand
Leaving perfect footprints behind us
Almost like a dream, but real
The sun shimmering in his eyes
We sit, the waves hitting our toes
He says nothing, I say nothing
Our surroundings say everything
The sun is barely peering now
Darkness starts to settle in above us
The moon beaming, the stars like diamonds
We lay down, gazing into the gem-like sky
We gently embrace each other's bodies
We are as close as two bodies can be
I rest my head on his chest
The thumping of his heart like a musical tune
I close my eyes tightly
We fall asleep still locked in each other
We didn't speak one word that night
Yet every word was spoken
