Thoughts of Dreams
I don't know where true love has gone
The mountains at my door
I don't know where true lore has gone
The plain swept out like carpet.
I don't know where true life has gone
The hills distant o'er the horizon
But just perhaps you my child
Might find them in your nightly dreams.
So sleep my child, dream of mountains,
Sleep and dream of love long past
O sleep my child, imagine plains,
Dream forever of lore's long fast
Rest, my child, and conjure hills
Life forever in your heart
Find for me these things three
The makers of the thoughts of dreams.
