A Family Tradition
Mama walks in with the trays
and lays the courses down
she takes the top off the turkey
its hot, fresh, and brown
my family comes in the dining room while everybody stands
daddy says the grace as the family joins hands
the grace is now over
we dig into the meal
"time to eat is what granny said
and our tummies were going to fill
the mashed potatoes are delicious
the roast beef was great
the pumpkin pie was marvelous
everyone cleared their plate
the supper is over
my mama is in there putting leftovers away
i showed my family to the door
and wished them a Happy Thanksgiving Day
