Off to the Races
One step two step three step four
Your crippling judgement brings me to the floor
Hesitantly taking four steps back
I am told to simply pick up the slack
Two small steps I slowly take
My whole body begins to ache
Step by step I fall deeper and deeper
And the mountain I’m climbing feels even steeper
Quietly whispering inspiration to myself
Putting my fears back on their shelf
To keep pushing forward I am trying
To myself I am no longer lying
Now viewing my body as mine
I’m finally able to cross the finish line
