CONCERNING THE REVIVAL OF THE GREAT NAUTILUS

The majestic, roaring Viper, golden and obsidian,
Traveled through the stars, harboring aliens ophidian,
Headed towards Earth by the Order of Apophis
Concerning the revival of the Great Nautilus.

The Viper and its fleet came over our skies,
And sent down its leader, a Master of Lies.
Who convinced the masses there was nothing amiss,
Concerning the revival of the Great Nautilus.

The primordial Nautilus was great and grand,
A deity in the universe, a king upon the land.
After the ground tremored, there was only bliss,
Concerning the revival of the Great Nautilus.

Its beak consuming their bodies, and even ashes,
Apophis joyfully stared at these events from the abyss,
Concerning the revival of the Great Nautilus.

This poem is in the form of a kyrielle. It is science fiction and fantasy oriented and got some inspiration from the Cthulhu Mythos of Lovecraft's imagination as well as the Ancient Astronaut Theory postulating that our "gods" are actually alien beings-- some of them being reptilian or ophidian in nature.
