Where I'm From

October 3, 2008
By Aaron Kane, Seven Valleys, PA

I am from family get-togethers at my grandparents' farm,
from hay rides, and bingo, and walks through the jungle of corn stalks.
I am from the 50 million relatives that I don't know,
from walking down that mile-long lane.

I am from Denny and Tina,
from my 7 brothers and sisters.
I am from Ethan, Matthew, Erica, Seairra, and Ava,
from dogs and cats, lizards and turtles, and all the other critters that we had.

I am from driving 800 miles every September in our old Town

I am the 6th of 8 children. When I wrote this poem, I was still dealing with the loss of my brother.
