Obesity

Obesity, Obesity,
You see it in the town,
You see it in the city,
And it’s not that pretty.

McDonalds, Burger Kings, and also Arby’s,
Americans don’t look like little Barbies.
Deep fried, fatty, bad for you kinds of food,
Now you might think I’m being kind of crude.

One day this population will decrease,
Because Americans are eating too much grease

I would like to make a proclamation,
To the over weight people in this nation.
“Turn off your T.V.s, and prevent diabetes.”

The way you make it sound, all americans should look like bardie dolls! HAH! I don't think that you understand that some people eat fatty, greasey food because its the only thing that they can afford, or that some people eat because it makes them feel better. Not all people are fat because they make a choice to be; some people are fat because they have a problem with their thyroid (like my mother). This poem really offends me, and not because I'm fat (even though I am a healthy 190 lbs). It offends me because this poem is one-sided, anorexia-inducing, and frankly, just plain mean.
