The Birthday Present

I was so excited
I could hardly wait
a few more days
7, I was turning
making out my list
parties, gifts, best friends
wondering
and to my surprise
got pulled out of school
my dad waiting to give me my present
7 pounds 5 ounces
bald and screaming
came in wrapped in blue
it’s a boy!
Tommes Jon R------ to be exact
others would be upset
there parties were ruined, not me
I smiled from ear to ear
to me it was the best day of my life
