Vigorous currents, grasping at my toes
An inexorable force I cannot flee
I see hate, jealousy, and greed
All that I am asking is to be free

Gasping for breath, blurred vision
I'm thrown across the churning sea
I see distress, fear, and animosity
All that I am asking is to be free

Incessant waves collapse down on me
Water filled lungs, I've paid my fee
I see insecurity, hopes, and anger
All that I am asking is to be free

Washing emotions up onto the sand
Disposed onto shore, filled with glee
I see compassion, love, and dreams
I am finally set free
