Remember Me as a Time of Day
I live to see the day
When the days can no longer,
No longer, will they see through me.
The hills will stare me down;
Scrutinize me. They answer no questions.
And behind them stands the woman
With no shadow. The pounding begins,
On the door, on my skull; let me in.
And time is lost, the hands so soft
Yet unforgiving. Now like twigs
Shattering at my feet.
Her touch is bare and bitter,
A sting to my fingertips.
The silence illuminates a
Desperation in the air.
I will now know no pain.
She has gone,
But remember me,
Remember me as a time of day.
