I notice every little detail,
In case you didn't see.
I observe how you place your fingers
And find the proper key.

I consider all the sounds you make
With your ax labeled 'Dean';
Just how you make them fill the room
And what they truly mean.

I see you whisper without a word
Your focus doesn't stray.
Your lips. They quiver. Such an odd thing.
I wonder what you say.

This act you have is entertaining,
I enjoy it every time.
I'd love for you to see it

But you're too busy,
Running the show.

So I notice.

The author's comments:
I was applying for a summer program that needed a poem no longer than a page responding to an image. I was searching for images and types of poems online for hours until I finally gave up and just wrote what I wanted. This is the result. It's responding to my friend playing guitar.
