No one said it was going to be easy

Whether you believe it or not.

Waking up in an unfamilar setting

as a nurse gives you another shot.

Stampedes of agony and despair

while touching noticable empty

patches of hair.

No one said it was going to be easy

Whether you believe it or not.

Listening to a bunch of delinquents

share stories of consuming alcohol

and smoking pot.

Experiencing nothing, but isolation

depression, and fear.

You irritably ask,

" What the hell am I doing here?"

No one said it was going to be easy

Whether you believe it or not.

Your mind feeling vulnerable

and weak.

A plethora of interminable

hallucinations leaving you lost

in thought without a word to speak.

No one said it was going to be easy

Whether you believe it or not.

Finally finding time to remember

the adversity and tribulations

we together fought.

The author's comments:
The purpose of why I wrote this piece was about someone living their life with OCD ( Obbsessive Compulsive Disorder). The poem intensly describes the challenges and darkness of living in a mental health center from the sufferer's point of view. I hope that after you read this poem, you should remember that everybody has their own original story; a story that is ironically similar to your own. It could happen to anyone. You should never feel like you are the only person on earth suffering from the same thing. Open your eyes and never judge a person from how they look, social status, and homelife. They are just normal people like you and me who suffered a disorder and are both willing to pay the price.
