We arrived in the arctic at noon and immediately ventured out into 30 feet of frozen fruits and vegetables. All of our crops for the harvest has been frozen to the ground and has become inedible without heat. The carrots crunched under our feet and the raspberries shattered between our toes. We feared that the hourly avalanche would surely end us. We all waited patiently for the door to freedom would open, and one by one we left our frozen terror.
