Twinkle Twinkle
On occasion I wish upon a star
To transport me to a place very far
Where boys were sweet and didn't speak
And preferred playgrounds over gyms and bars
Where a girl was still a princess
And boys were princes, not frogs
The girls were given flowers
Even if picked by a playground bog
When the boys were shy but unafraid
To tell a girl what they thought
And giving a kiss wasn't a trophy to gain
Or the girl a prize to be bought
So on occasion I'll wish and wish
To traverse back to the day
Where gentlemen were witty and sweet
And I pray I'll find a way.
