Bitter tears of regret and remorse
Created by mistakes chained to us,
taunting through once pleasant dreams
reminding us with every step, every shallow breathe

These tears that tear from within
that close doors once opened before us
making dreams crumble into pieces,
slowly slipping through shaky hands

Guilt whispers in your ear
repeating a question with no answer
Why?

The author's comments:
This poem is about mistakes people have done and can't get away from the greif it gives them. What inspired me to write this poem was when one day I was remembering all of the bad decisions I have made in my past and what my view was on all of them.
