We Are Hidden

People of the world,
Are hidden by masks,
With bland expressions,
Behind duplicates,
Of everyone else's.
Every so often,
Eyes discover a flaw in the mask,
The person is hidden no more.
Their mask is discarded,
Their face is revealed,
Alive with rich,intricate detail.
Why people choose to keep the cheap, expressionless masks,
Is unknown to me,
Why settle for less,
When you can have unique beauty?

I wrote this poem to encourage individualism and support people in my school to be themselves.

You are amazing! I think all kids need support to know that it is okay to be unique.
