L-I-F-E
No points

I scrabble the word
L-O-V-E
7 points.

A paradigm of
Ecstasy
Hope
Passion
Devotion
A transgression

I modify the word
P-E-R-F-E-C-T
11 points

This is our fate
It is an ambitious mission
We are expected to live in a flawless world.
Distinctive people are chastised
Hanged like ornaments in a Christmas tree.

Yet, I'm not satisfied
I need more points if I want to win this game.
O-P-P-R-E-S-S-I-O-N
22 points

This is what it takes to fashion an ideal world.
It is darkly humorous, but is a reality
Notice oppression gives more points than love?

This is a metaphor.

This is life:
Unfair.
Arduous.
It is like a game of scrabble
You write it as you want it to be.
You sum up all the points,
But then your realize
That the words with the highest numbers,
Are in fact those who spoil your life.
You wish to finish the game,
Is not worth fighting anymore'

The game is over.

What a great poem! I love the use of metaphor and the stark images. What was your inspiration?
