War of Dawn
The night was hauntingly bright.
All was illuminated by the moons ethereal light.
In the dark the shadows are cast.
Just how long will this night last.
Here it comes; the rise of dawn,
opening its eyes light a newly born fawn.
Yet, the earth is still enraptured in slumber.
The sun still rose bringing color to all that the moon made somber.
The morning dew shimmered on the grass,
the sun slowly sailing lake a ships great mast,
the clouds came, things began to change.
The arrival of dawn had come and past.
The skies were ashen and dreary.
The clouds were heavy and weary.
The sun fought hard to shine,
freedom from the dark clouds was that for which He did pine.
The earth below was cloaked in gray,
thunder and lighting quickly joined the fray.
The clouds, now free, of their burden,
quickly began to cheer.
The fallen rain drops now shimmered in the newly freed sunlight.
