Do I Exist
Darkness falls upon my face
No utter hope I know
I fill my time with hopeless space
As it helps this despair grow
I seek the peace of sweet escape
To temper all this pain
Where one life ends a new creates
Where one loss leads to gain
The endless seeking unspoken truths
On the great beyond
My restless spirit seeks to soothe
The need to just belong
Do I exist when you walk by
And look into my face
Do you see another human being
Or just the land and sky
The pain you cause with callous turn
Or hurtful, scornful word
The deep despair the starts to burn
Where no one else is heard
Well I do exist and I am here
My space you must observe
My voice will rise above the fear
Until my words are heard
