Turn on a Light
I have felt this before
This frenzied barrage of meaningless conclusions
I have lived through how my eyes
See your eyes
Seeing mine
I have tried to read between the lines
Of your inquisitive eyebrows
I have tried to peek into your head
Yet ended up peeking back into my own
I know the choice that must be made
So today I will become
Desperate or Numb
Insatiable or Replaceable
'Cause I've spent years
Building this barricade of distractions
Around myself
Between me and your darkness
Lies a comfortable existence
Where everything is as it seems
So I wish, more than anything,
You would turn on a light
And remove all of the shadows and illusion
The traps and confusion
Let me see the inner workings of your heart
So that I can understand you
And understand Me
