New York City's Spirit
Please come out!
Where ever you are.
We need you to bring life
in this city.
A city that never sleeps
They say, but how could
This city sleeps with out a spirit,
That wanders like
A stray dog looking for
A home.
Like a homeless man sits on
a bench praying
For
an omen from God.
Have you lost hope in this city?
Have forgotten this city?
Like a dusty doll on bottom shelf
in toy store,
that been waiting for years
for someone to noticed it,
Have your dreams been broken
Since the day the two towers crumpled
Down?
This city is so dead, so depressed
This city, the people cried for you
Like a needy child crying for a
mother,
You are our mother,
cradled us in your arms.
Makes us heal this wound,
with your soothing words.
Makes us believe that we
Have something left.
Makes us happy,
with your sweet smile.
Makes our heart,
feels whole once again.
