Sixteen
Taking a spin in my ideal car
Silver, shiny, and sleek
Driving along the winding highway
Curving into all the twists and turns
Singing along to an old one-hit-wonder
on a tank full to the brim of gas to burn
Amid I have all these thoughts to ponder
Ah to be sixteen
What does it all mean?
Mind overflowing with questions
Never getting enough answers
Marveling at the possibilities the future can bring
Abundant in teenage vitality
I screech to a hault
Almost running a red light by fault
Brought back to harsh reality
To be sixteen
Crushes, grades, friends, and enemies
Malicious Peer pressure
Offensive criticism
Spiteful gossip
Such great perks of being sixteen
