Why Me?

The ticking of the clock grows louder.
The bell should ring any minute,
The hallway will fill with excited voices.
If I can just get past the lockers,
Everything will be ok,
At least for today.
She will be out there somewhere,
Scanning faces and searching for me.
She never lets up,
I am her target.
Teasing, stealing from me,
Knocking me down.
Anything for a laugh.
She is the hunter and I am her prey.
Wanting to scream,
But no sound comes out.
As tears fill my eyes,
I ask myself 'Why me?'
How long can this go on?
Why won't anyone help me?
My stomach sinks as the bell goes off.
Here I go again.

This poem is not true about me, but it is based on some pretty bad stuff I have seen happen to other people
