I saw you for the first time
And my heart beat faster than the chime.
You looked so dazzling and fine.
I wished and dreamed you were mine.

I sat there in the room feeling all alone.
But when you walked in the sun truly shone.
I smiled wide,
But you walked past my side.

I turned to stare
Before this I was unaware
Tears began to swell
As I fought back a yell.

My heart is slowly breaking.
On the inside I am bruised and aching.
I realize these events seem like a rush,
But now I know why they call it a crush.

The author's comments:
The biggest inspiration for this is real life. I have had many crushes, and most of them ended badly. From my sorrow I created this poem about a girl liking a guy, but finds out he has a girlfriend.
