Final Judgement
I think about all the things
Someone might never get to see,
All the people a person
Might never get to meet,
All their possibilities
That could never come to be.
Their decisions left unmade
Someone who will never live
To see a rule unbroken.
Someone only getting a sentence,
Instead of a full-length novel
Because they might be gone
Before they've really spoken.
I think about someone who
Might never get to fit
Into a big kid's shoe.
Someone who might not get to
Make their final judgment of
Me and you.
So be sure not to let a moment
Pass you by,
Or be afraid to cry.
Just because you're standing still,
Doesn't mean that time will.
